Bomb factory dissident link

GARDAÍ have linked the discovery of a bomb factory in Co Kildare to Óglaigh na hÉireann, considered the most dangerous of the dissident republican groups.

Anti-terror officers, backed up by an élite heavily armed unit, swooped on a container located on farmland near the village of Monasterevin yesterday morning. They discovered a bomb-making workshop inside the container, housing components for bombs, but not explosives or mortars.

Garda sources said the components, particularly tubing, is similar to bomb parts found near the border in other finds last December. These were also linked to Óglaigh na hÉireann.
