Dublin CF unit opens

A NEW unit specifically for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis has just opened at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Traditionally a disease of children, improvements in diagnosis and treatment mean that nowadays over 50% of people in Ireland with CF are adults and this proportion is set to rise.

Cystic fibrosis is Ireland’s most common life-threatening genetically inherited disease with over 1,100 CF patients.
