Adams, who got his first real six-string in the summer of ’69 and went on to have his hit Everything I Do (I Do It For You) dominate the top of the Irish charts for 11 weeks in 1991, is the sixth act to be added to the Live at the Marquee line-up for next summer.
Originally interspersed between his larger band gigs, in the last number of years the Grammy award winning singer/songwriter has developed his solo acoustic shows to greatacclaim.
The music legend, who has had a career spanning more than 25 years, is back touring with his latest live album, Bare Bones, which features a collection of live performances of fan favourites.
The 51-year-old’s music has already shown its staying power and popularity with the younger generation after final X Factor group One Direction chose Summer of ’69 as their opening song in rock week.
Adams’s tour will also include a date at The O2 in Dublin on June 23 and Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on June 24.
Acts already announced to play at the Marquee in 2011 include Elton John, Christy Moore, Alexandra Burke and Imelda May.

Other big names who previously played the big tent include Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson and Neil Young.
