Man charged in Limerick murders case
He was charged at Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick where he has been held since his arrest in Kilkee last Tuesday afternoon.
The man, who is from North Cork, will be brought this morning to a special sitting of Newcastle West District Court, where the state will apply to have him remanded in custody on the four charges. He cannot be named until he is brought before the court.
He is charged with the murder of Sarah Hines, 25, her son Reece Hines, 3, her five-month-old daughter Amy Hines, and Alicia Brough, at Hazelgrove, Newcastle West.
There will be tight security at Newcastle West courthouse for today’s hearing. It is located near to Hazelgrove estate where the four bodies were discovered at lunchtime last Tuesday.
The family of Sarah Hines plan to hold her funeral and that of her two children in Tournafulla next week.
They are awaiting relatives, who are travelling from Britain for the funeral.
Ms Hines and her family came to West Limerick from Essex and initially settled in Tournafulla, before moving to an address at Feoghanagh.
Ms Hines, along with her children, moved into a rented house in Newcastle West some months ago and Ms Brough had been visiting her at the time of the murders.
