WOMEN in Ireland are more likely to die of cancer than in the majority of other European countries.

The death rate among Irish women from all kinds of cancer, at just over 150 per 100,000, was found to be the third highest in the European Union.

Hungary had the highest rate at around 175 per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Czech Republic, with a rate that was just slightly ahead of Ireland’s.
