From West Wing to Co Tipp

IT’S a long way from The West Wing to Tipperary but Hollywood legend Martin Sheen will be popping up in Fethard in the near future as part of his latest project.

The star of iconic films such as Apocalypse Now, Wall Street and Badlands, along with the hugely popular The West Wing on TV more recently, Sheen will be filming in Tipperary in the coming weeks.

His latest movie, Stella Days, tells the story of a newly-arrived parish priest who wants to open a cinema in a small town in 1950s Ireland, but attracts the opposition of his bishop as well as and some locals who fear the effect of the outside influence on their way of life.
