LABOUR leader Eamon Gilmore has said he will accept the Taoiseach’s invitation to economic talks, but last night attacked the idea of a “phoney consensus” deal.

Mr Gilmore as speaking after Brian Cowen denied doing a U-turn on the idea by inviting the opposition to the talks.

Mr Gilmore and Fine Gael’s Enda Kenny are expected to meet the Taoiseach next week to discuss how to plan the four year budgetary outline being drawn-up for the EU.
