€30,000 worth of tobacco seized

ABOUT €30,000 worth of illegal tobacco and cigarettes have been seized by officers from Revenue’s Customs Service in Tralee, Co Kerry, the second such seizure in a week.

A man in his sixties has been questioned in relation to the seizure which amounted to 80kgs of tobacco and a small quantity of cigarettes.

It followed the seizure, last week, of 535,000 cigarettes, 130 kilos of hand-rolling tobacco and over a 1,000 litres of suspected counterfeit vodka in Tralee.
