75% of bank staff abused by customers

THREE out of every four frontline bank staff are being threatened, physically attacked or insulted by the public on an almost daily basis.

Figures revealed by the Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA) show an increasing number of customers are taking out their anger on low-level employees for the crisis caused by their bosses.

At least one Irish bank has already introduced a 24-hour counselling service for its employees because of the abuse they are facing.
