Fire brigade supplies water to Ennis plant

The Ennis Water Treatment plant has been unable to process the required amount of water to cater for consumers on the Ennis Water supply after its incoming water-filtration system became congested with debris. This resulted from a protracted spell of dry weather which was quickly followed a period of intense rainfall.

A Clare County Council spokesman confirmed: “Water quality was never affected and production has recommenced and is slowly returning to normal. However, water pressure has been affected in outlying areas.”
