Corkman’s ‘bullet’ threat
Garda Conor Egan yesterday told Cork District Court gardaí responded to a call to the laneway leading from the Blackrock Inn to Skehard Road and encountered Patrick O’Donoghue, aged 23, who became abusive in his language.
“There were members of the public present on the laneway present at the time and he shouted, ‘I’m going to come back tomorrow and put a bullet in everyone’s head’,” Garda Egan testified.
O’Donoghue, of Bay 11, Knocknaheeny Halting Site, Cork, pleaded guilty to being threatening to such an extent that it could have caused a breach of the peace on June 6. He also admitted being drunk and a source of danger to himself or others.
Judge David Riordan ordered him to do 120 hours of community service instead of two months in jail for his threatening behaviour and fined him €120 for the drunkenness count.
