THE Health Service Executive is today expected to finally reveal how many temporary posts it will have to cut and how many services it will have to severely curtail or end to address a potential year-end overspend of some €127 million in the western region.

It is widely anticipated that the HSE will reveal it is not renewing the contracts of some 800-1,000 temporary staff in the region.

New documentation illustrating the dire straits that the HSE West finds itself in was provided to trade unions yesterday.
