HSE spends €121m on taxi services since 2006

MORE than €121 million has been spent on taxi services by the Health Service Executive since 2006, figures obtained by Fine Gael reveal.

The figures were obtained by the party’s health spokesman, Dr James Reilly, just days after the health authority admitted it had not tendered for taxi services since it was established in 2005.

“Figures I obtained from the HSE show that the organisation is averaging a €29m annual spend on hiring taxis,” Dr Reilly said.
