Couple collect €2m Lotto cheque

THE bank holiday weekend got off to a perfect start for a Waterford couple who picked up a cheque for €2 million after winning last Saturday’s Lotto jackpot.

They bought the ticket in Cork’s Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre during a visit to the city. “That day we just decided to take a spin down to Cork. We popped in to SuperValu for food. I remembered I’d won €5 the previous week so I handed in my ticket and asked the girl for a €4 Quick Pick,” said the delighted wife. “That decision has changed our lives forever.”
