National Lottery headquarters released the figure yesterday after Cork’s latest Lotto jackpot at the weekend.

There have been four Lotto jackpots won in the city and county in the past two months.

The winning ticket for Saturday night’s €2 million jackpot was sold in SuperValu in Merchant’s Quay.

Last Wednesday’s €5.2m winning ticket – an €8 multi-draw Quick Pick – was sold at another SuperValu outlet in Togher.

The lucky €4 Quick Pick was bought on the day of the draw. The prize has not yet been claimed.

And Sunday night’s €500,000 All or Nothing winning ticket was sold in Mace on Pouladuff Road.

This prize also remains unclaimed.

June also proved to be a very lucky month for Corkonians.

On Wednesday, June 20, a delighted Corkman won the €2m Lotto jackpot. He bought his €12 multi-draw Quick Pick ticket in McCarthy News, Main Street, Midleton.

A Cork couple joined the millionaire’s club on Wednesday, June 9, when they hit the Lotto jackpot and took home over €6m.

And in February, another Cork Lotto player made history when he became the first ever online jackpot winner. The married man won more than €5.5m.

Cork players have also won big on National Lottery TV game shows this year.

In June, Helen Walsh from Mayfield won €310,000 on the Big Money Game TV gameshow – the biggest win on the series so far.

Last Saturday, Nell Walsh from Kilworth took home €60,000. In April, Chris O’Sullivan from Passage West won €318,000 on Winning Streak and Con Horgan from Mallow won €70,800 on the game show in January.
