Commissioner welcomes bill

GARDA Commissioner Fachtna Murphy backed the new home defence bill, saying it “makes sense”.

The bill allows people to use reasonable force against intruders to protect themselves, their family and their property.

This includes lethal force, depending on the circumstances.
