IRISH enthusiasts of Apple gadgets will be able to get their hands on the iPad tablet computer here from Friday – if they are willing to part with at least €499.

The lightweight computer – likened after its introduction to the United States market in early April to a scaled-up model of the iPhone – will be available through Apple stores and authorised Apple dealers.

The price range goes up to €800 for the 64-gigabyte model with wi-fi and 3G, which can access the internet over wireless and mobile networks.
