Airport strike is deferred

THE strike due at Galway airport today has been deferred, pending a ballot on settlement proposals.

This follows talks between SIPTU and management at the Labour Relations Commission yesterday. SIPTU organiser Annette Carpenter said that the union is recommending that the terms that emerged from those talks be accepted.

The members will vote early next week on them.
