EQUALITY Minister Pat Carey will face legal action this week over the redundancy of his former constituency secretary.

A case is being taken by Linda Weir who worked on a part-time basis in his constituency office in Finglas, Dublin, when he was the Government’s chief whip and before he was promoted to Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs last March.

A hearing is scheduled for the Employment Appeals Tribunal next Tuesday and is the second time a politician will appear before the court in recent months.
