Detective assigned to probe mystery poisoning of Kerry eagles
The deaths of three white-tailed eagles in the past four weeks, after they ate poison-laced meat baits of the type put out by farmers for crows and foxes, has caused outrage in the area and has led to calls for action against those responsible.
All the birds – found in the Beaufort area, outside Killarney – had been released in Killarney National Park as part of a five-year eagle reintroduction programme.
