A GANG made off with tens of thousands of euro worth of diamond rings following a robbery at a jewellers in east Cork during the early hours of yesterday morning.

Gardaí believe at least two men were responsible for the burglary which took place at Gemini Jewellers at Main Street, Midleton.

They broke in through the rear of the jewellers, which is situated at 95 Main Street, next to the Bank of Ireland, sometime between 3am and 4am.
