Man rescued from river dies

A MAN rescued from the River Liffey in Dublin by a garda on Thursday died in hospital yesterday.

The garda from Kevin St Garda Station tried to rescue the man after he went into the water at Victoria Quay. Both men were taken to St James’s Hospital, but the man, who was in his 30s, died. The garda’s injuries are not life threatening.
