Workers are ‘sacrificial lambs’
The IBOA said the level of financial support which will be required from the state to place the five covered institutions on a sound footing was likely to be “colossal.”
“As this is undoubtedly the biggest crisis ever to face the financial sector in Ireland, there is a grave concern that ordinary bank staff will become the sacrificial lambs with further job cuts on management agendas,” said IBOA general secretary Larry Broderick.
