Woman fights for life after car crash in US
Nicole Ryan-Graham, 27, who lived in Moyross and Meelick, is on a life-support machine.
Members of her family have travelled to comfort her three young daughters, Kandra, Katie and Kellesy who are aged 20 months, five years and 11 years.
Her aunt, Mary Stundon, from Corbally said: “We have been told that she will be on life-support for the next two weeks and we are all praying that she will recover.
“We are all distraught and pray to God she will make a full recovery. We are told the next two weeks are vital. Her three beautiful girls need her.”
Nicole was a passenger in a car which was involved in an accident.
As she is not an American citizen, there will be no state funds to help pay her medical bills and she has no insurance.
Her hospital care is costing in the region of $10,000 (about €7,400) a day and bills to date have run to more than $400,000 (just under €300,000).
A fundraising effort is now under way in Limerick and a benefit night will be held at the Greenhills Hotel on March 12 with tickets costing €10.
