FORMER Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan yesterday accused Tánaiste Mary Coughlan of speaking “a load of guff” on the Mid-West Task Force.

The head of the task force Denis Brosnan has already issued a “put up or shut up” warning to the Tánaiste over government inaction on 20 proposals sent to it.

Mr Noonan said: “She is expressing views prepared for her by people who do not understand what is happening in the mid-west region. It’s such guff that it is difficult to tell whether we are seeking to address the same problem.”
