HSE abandons plan for agency pay cuts

THE Health Service Executive has abandoned its attempt to cut the pay of everybody who is employed by agencies it funds with grants.

It had instructed all these agencies, not under its direct control, to cut the pay of staff in line with the reductions to public service salaries imposed in the next budget.

This included groups such as Enable Ireland and Barnardos.
