DOZENS of homeless people sleeping rough have entered emergency accommodation in recent days, but a number have refused to access bed services despite the continued freezing conditions.

Homeless help services have targeted hard-to-reach groups in recent days who are described as ‘entrenched’ homeless people on the streets.

Gardaí have helped homeless agencies get those still on the street into bed services, while extra sleeping bags and clothing are being made available to those who refuse to come out of the cold.
