13,000 domestic phone lines cut as weather causes havoc

MORE than 13,000 homes across Ireland have seen their phone lines cut off as snow, ice and plummeting temperatures continue to wreak havoc.

Eircom says more than 13,000 phone-line faults have been reported over the past six days.

To date, approximately 8,000 faults have been cleared.
