Public sector unions detail timetable for strike action in February

PUBLIC sector unions have released a timetable for strike action which will grind various health, teaching and civil services to a halt from the start of February.

They say their aim is to reverse the pay cuts introduced in the last budget, prevent compulsory redundancies across the sector and to protect their existing pension provision.

Already a large percentage of the country’s 300,000 public sector workers are refusing to take part in any Government and employer efforts to transform the public service.
