Man, 19, slashed in gang attack

A KNOWN associate of the McCarthy Dundon gang is recovering after receiving numerous slash wounds in a vicious attack near his home in Limerick.

Two men armed with knives carried out the attack in Carew Park, Southill, at around teatime on Wednesday.

The victim, 19, from Ballinacurra Weston, was brought to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital with wounds to the neck, arms and upper body. His injuries were not life-threatening.
