Commissioner warns of action against rogue gardaí

GARDA Commissioner Fachtna Murphy has warned action will be taken against rogue gardaí who engage in illegal activities.

Speaking on RTÉ radio News at One programme yesterday, Commissioner Murphy said the values he stands for are honour, accountability, respectability and professionalism – “that is what I want from all my members and anyone who steps outside those values naturally enough will be dealt with”.

The commissioner’s comments were in response to queries about the involvement of a number of gardaí with certain criminal gangs in Dublin.
