GREEN leader John Gormley says he was unaware private investors would control the vehicle running NAMA when party members met to discuss the issue earlier this month.

But Mr Gormley insisted the involvement of private investors is not “a major issue” and its significance is “greatly exaggerated”.

The Greens held a special conference on October 10 to discuss both NAMA and the revised Programme for Government. If party members had failed to support either in sufficient numbers, the Greens would have had to pull out of government.
