JUSTICE Minister Dermot Ahern and Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy are to meet bank officials to press home the need for them to adhere to tiger kidnapping protocols.

Ahern ‘concerned’ over  delay in notifying gardaí about tiger raid

Mr Ahern yesterday said he had “grave concerns” over reports that Bank of Ireland executives failed to alert gardaí as soon as they became aware that a tiger kidnapping was under way — as stated in the protocol.

In the most recent tiger kidnapping, last Friday, it appears that more than two hours passed before Bank of Ireland officials notified gardaí.
