THERE are gross inequalities in breast prosthesis supply and fitting services across the country, according to the Irish Cancer Society.

The society also called on Health Minister Mary Harney to explain why basic standards of care for prosthesis supply and fitting it published more than three years ago have not been implemented.

The cancer society has also asked women TDs and senators why women who have had to overcome breast cancer and treatment are not having their prostheses needs met.
