CORK county manager Martin Riordan has said the imminent early retirement of a number his most senior staff “will have a significant effect” on how the country’s largest local authority carries out its business.

He confirmed yesterday that two directors of services, along with six senior executive engineers and senior executive officers are taking early retirement.

Furthermore, a number of other senior clerical posts will also be shed through the Incentivised Early Retirement Scheme.
