GARDAÍ are re-investigating claims that a woman was imprisoned, raped and abused by her step-father to whom she bore five children.

Gardaí revisiting ‘Irish Fritzl’ allegations

A woman named “Catherine” made the allegations on Newstalk radio last month. During the interview she said no case had been taken against her step-father despite all her efforts to get a prosecution.

The head of children’s charity Barnardos, Fergus Finlay, last night called on the Government to take action, branding the man dubbed the Irish Josef Fritzl “dangerous”.
