ARTS, Sport and Tourism Minister Martin Cullen has lashed out at the media for “distorting” the travel bills and expenses of politicians such as John O’Donoghue.

“I think the media have a lot to answer for,” he said yesterday as Fianna Fáil bitterness over Mr O’Donoghue’s forced departure grew.

Mr O’Donoghue, who preceded Mr Cullen in the Arts Department, will return to the Fianna Fáil backbenches when he resigns as Ceann Comhairle next Tuesday.
