‘A boy who tried to understand life’s big picture’

DISABILITY campaigner Kathy Sinnott told the congregation gathered at her 22-year-old son’s funeral Mass in Carrigaline, Co Cork, yesterday that her son “was always trying to understand life’s big picture”.

A psychology and philosophy student at Southern Catholic University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, she said she has taken comfort since his death by imagining “that he understands this big picture now”. Kevin, she said, was “an amazing sportsman” with a “great natural sense of balance” who loved playing soccer in Cork and in the US.

Smiling, she told those gathered: “I bet you didn’t know that he came second in a national trampoline competition?
