GARDAÍ are investigating a shooting incident on Thursday night in the Togher area of Cork city.

At approximately 8pm a single shot was fired at a house in Cherry Tree Road in the suburb. The house was unoccupied at the time. Locals informed gardaí, who organised a forensic examination of the scene.

Garda sources said they had not established a motive for the attack.
