REGIMENTAL Sergeant Major Pat O’Driscoll will next week come of age as a veteran of UN peace-keeping missions.

RSM O’Driscoll, 57, will leave for Chad on his 21st tour of duty since joining the Defence Forces in 1973.

RSM O’Driscoll, who is married with three daughters and lives in Ballincollig, said: “I have spent more than 10 years abroad now on UN duty in places which include Afghanistan, Lebanon, Liberia, Bosnia and Cyprus. We are soldiers, this is what we do.
