Four arrested as Shell pipeline protests continue

A man and two women, all in their 20s, were arrested on public order offences after forming human barriers on the road at Pollathomais about a kilometre from where the pipeline is due to come ashore on Glengad Beach at 2.20pm.

The group, a Dubliner and two English people, were attempting to block trucks reaching the Shell compound at Glengad and had made a tripod of scaffolding, climbed it and secured themselves to the structure.
