Shannon future in doubt over Ryanair cutbacks
Ryanair yesterday announced it is to cut back operations at both Shannon and Dublin this winter, resulting in 650 job losses. Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary warned it could “pull out” of Shannon next year if the cost base there increases further.
Further cuts in winter flights will be announced in the coming months if the Government fails to scrap the €10 tourist tax, he said.
