FG: Poll must be trigger to force Fianna Fáil out

THE triple election showdown on June 5 should be used by voters as the trigger to force Brian Cowen out of power, Fine Gael insisted last night.

Launching the party’s manifesto to win a record number of local council seats, Enda Kenny said he saw the battle as the springboard for national government.

The Fine Gael leader said he made no apologies for fighting the council contest on national issues as he promised to create 100,000 new jobs in hi-tech and green industries.
