Probe after off-duty garda and teenager die in crash

FORENSIC investigators are trying to establish the cause of a horrific road crash in which an off-duty garda and a teenager were killed.

The accident occurred just before 6am yesterday on a good road in clear, bright weather on the outskirts of Belmullet, Co Mayo.

Families, friends and colleagues were left shattered by the tragedy, which claimed the lives of Stephen Conway, 19, from Inver, and Garda Terence Dever, 47, from Achill.
