Taoiseach advises FF voters to give coalition partners transfers

TAOISEACH Brian Cowen said he would advise Fianna Fáil supporters to transfer to the Greens and he praised the eco policies they have pushed as partners in government.

This follows the refusal of senior Green Party figures to offer similar advice to their supporters in a move seen as an effort to distance themselves from Fianna Fáil.

Green Senator Dan Boyle said yesterday that the party does not traditionally have election pacts.
