ABOUT 10,000 people sought information and advice on prostate health from the Irish Cancer Society (ICS) in the past three years, with men making more than 80% of the enquiries.

The figures illustrate more than ever that men in Ireland are taking action when it comes to their health, the ICS said yesterday.

There were 2,536 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in 2007, according to latest data from the National Cancer Registry of Ireland (NCRI).
