Deasy ‘threatened’ in Dáil after corruption allegation
Mr Deasy made the sensational claim after a day of fiery clashes between the Government and Opposition over the new “bad bank” plan.
“Two councillors in Dublin Airport nine years ago earnestly told me that taking money was ‘the way of the world’ and [that] I needed to accept that,” Mr Deasy told the Dáil. “I began to become vocal about it. Besides the abuse, the intimidation, the threats (one of which was on the floor of this chamber), I found it’s a very unpopular thing to do.”
