Transport cuts ‘vicious’

TRANSPORT policies of the Green Party are nothing more than “empty promises and worthless promises”, it was claimed at the Labour Party conference at the weekend.

Transport spokesman Tommy Broughan attacked the Government over the “vicious” proposed cuts to Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann which, he said, will affect low income families, senior citizens and the vulnerable. “There has never been a greater need for the Labour Party to fulfil our unique role as the champions of sustainable public transport,” he said.
