EU FUNDING may be sought to reopen a railway line that closed almost 50 years ago.

Feasibility study on re-opening Ring of Kerry railway proposed

Kerry County Council has been called on to undertake a feasibility study regarding the development of a single gauge line from Farranfore to Caherciveen.

The old line ran for more than 50km along the spectacular Ring of Kerry, commanding outstanding views of the rugged landscape, sea and mountains.
