Gardaí: Anglo probe to take time

GARDAÍ yesterday said it would take time to determine whether any possible criminal offences have been carried out in Anglo Irish Bank.

The Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation (GBFI) has been tasked with examining files which have been handed over to it by the Financial Regulator.

The regulator contacted the Garda Síochána “at a high level” on Wednesday and asked that it begin an investigation into possible criminal transactions at Anglo Irish.
